Coaches’ Code of Conduct
Place the safety, emotional, and physical well being of players ahead of a desire to win.
Treat each player as an individual remembering the large range of emotional and physical development for the same age group.
Review and practice basic first aid principles need to treat injuries of players.
Do my best to participate in coaching clinics to advance my coaching skills.
Organize practices that are fun and challenging for players.
Ensure my players’ soccer experience is one of fun and enjoyment (winning is only part). Be generous with praise when it is deserved.
Never yell or ridicule players for making mistakes or losing a game.
Lead by example in demonstrating fair play and sportsmanship to all players, officials, and spectators. Keep winning and losing in perspective.
Provide a sports environment that is free of illegal drugs, tobacco, alcohol, profanity, abusive language, and conduct which could be deemed offensive. Refrain from their use at all practices and games.
Be knowledgeable in the laws of soccer and teach these laws to my players.
Remember the game is for the players and not the adults.
